The Vision Impaired Resource Network (VIRN) Inc. is a non-profit organization that delivers programs and activities focusing on providing life learning experiences and information, to build the confidence of people with vision impairment to lead fully inclusive and productive lives.

Our Pillars
Tools and Technology Training people with vision impairment:
- Training that shows how to use computers, tablets, phones and other adaptive technology so people with vision impairment can use them at home, work, learn and play.
- Find and teach the best methods to help keep their job after they have lost some or all of their vision.
- Use and be efficient using mainstream technology with text-to-speech and magnification Apps to become job ready.
- How to use other Adaptive Technology to access audio books from libraries and other online sources.
- Travel training using mobility canes, bus Apps, GPS and other methods to build their confidence and encourage learning and independence.
- Braille Transcription and Accessibility Consulting Services.
Peer Support – We are here for the community and to support each other; offering one on one peer mentoring and opportunities for group discussion.
Public Education – Through presentations, workshops and our trade show we bring awareness about the challenges, find solutions and resources that are available for people with vision impairment.
Active Living – We believe in staying active, getting involved in inclusive sport and recreational programs / activities, having fun in a welcoming environment.
